These earrings are so super easy to make, you won’t believe it! I first saw this style earring on a blog post of a style icon I follow. It took me ages to find the raffia and figure out exactly how I was going to make them but once I did, I was stunned at how incredibly easy they are.

Instructions
Watch the video or read the instructions below.
Make the Fan
Cut the raffia into two pieces 3m long (in half). Wrap one piece around your hand, making sure it isn’t twisted.
Take the wire and thread it through one end of the wraps, then bring it around the top. Hold it firm and twist the wire so that it’s nice and tight.
Using the flush cutters, cut the ends of the wire off, leaving a small tail.
Pull the raffia so that the wire is at the very top, then cut the other end with your scissors.
Using your pliers, squeeze the top where the wire is to make it as flat as possible.
Take both pairs of pliers and gently open the ribbon end so that the raffia will fit inside. Be very careful not to scratch it.
Push the ribbon end onto the top of the raffia, as hard as you can. If the ‘stem’ of wire is poking up through the hole in the ribbon end, push it down. Start pulling the raffia into the place you would like it to sit.
Using either nylon jawed pliers or a cloth to protect the finish, gently start to squeeze the ribbon end together. Once you are happy with how the raffia is sitting squeeze the ribbon end as tightly as you can so that the teeth hold the raffia.
Take a ruler and measure 1.5cm from the edge of the ribbon end, all the way around, making tiny marks with a pen or pencil.
Cut the raffia, cutting off the marks to make a nice even fan shape. Fluff out the raffia.
Add the Ear Wire
Using the chain nose pliers open the ear hook. Hold the inside of the loop in the pliers and rotate your hand down to open the loop.
Feed on the loop of the ribbon end and reverse the process to close the loop.
Repeat for the other earring.
If you would like to make the jewellery I am wearing in the video, the necklace tutorial can be found here:
I haven’t done a tutorial on the earrings but you could use the same technique I used to make my Valentine’s Day earrings to make these teardrop earrings.
The bracelet I’m wearing is a multi-strand bracelet with a magnetic clasp. You can find the tutorial here:
