Today I’m going to show you five basic jewellery making techniques that every jewellery maker should know. We are going to be talking:
- Stringing
- Crimping
- Wire Wrapped Loops
- Jump Rings
- Ear Wires
Along the way we are going to be making three projects:
- Necklace
- Bracelet
- Earrings.
Pretty much everything you need to know here in one tutorial.
Instructions
I’m not going to write out the instructions for each technique this week – it’s best if you watch the video. I’ll leave links to all the materials and tools I used below.
Necklace
Here’s what you will need if you would like to make the necklace:
- 1.5mm Gold Crimp Beads x2
- 6mm Gold Jump Ring x1
- 12mm Gold 304 Stainless Steel Lobster Clasp x1
- 0.38mm Golden Tiger Tail x 60cm
- 10mm Red Silver Foil Round Beads x18
- 3mm Gold Ball Beads x 19
Bracelet
Here’s what you will need to make the bracelet:
- 4mm Dyed Acrylic Faceted Mix Beads x 12-14
- 24 Gauge Silver Beadsmith German Style Wire
- 6mm Silver Jump Rings x 2
- 12mm Silver 304 Stainless Steel Lobster Clasp x1

Earrings
To make the earrings you will need:
- 10x8mm Dodger Blue Transparent Faceted Glass Butterfly x2
- 9x6mm Gold Star Drop Charm x2
- 4mm Gold Jump Rings x2
- 19mm Gold Twist Earhooks x 1pr
- 5cm Gold Eyepins x2
