Orange Chain Earrings - Affordable Jewellery Supplies

Orange Chain Earrings

These long orange chain earrings are made with some Indian Glass Lampwork beads.

Check out the layout diagram below to ensure you get the beads in the correct place.

Materials

Here’s what you’ll need to make them:

Tools

  • Ruler
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Flush cutters
  • Round nose pliers
  • Extra pair of chain nose pliers (optional)

Instructions

Watch the video or read the instructions below.

Cut the Chain

Using your flush cutters and ruler, find the centre link of the chain. Clip the link and remove the link so that you have two pieces measuring approximately 6cm.

Teardrop Dangle

Make a small loop in the end of the wire and give it a squeeze to squash it a little. If you need help making a loop please watch the How to Make a Simple Loop video.

Next add one 3mm ball, one faceted rondelle then the teardrop.

Make a wire wrapped loop at the top of the teardrop and thread the loop into the end link of the change.

If you need help with making a wire wrapped loop, please watch the How To Make a Wire Wrapped Loop video.

Bring the wire wrapping right down onto the bead.  Trim off the wire and tuck in the ends.

Add the Beads to the Chain

Thread the beads onto the head pins and attach with wire wrapped loops as per the diagram below.

Once you have attached all the beads, the earring should look like this.

Attach Earhook

Now that all the beads are attached, you should have four chain links free.

Open the loop at the bottom of the earhook and attach the top link of the chain to it.

Close the loop.

That's all there is to it - you're done.

Except, of course, to repeat the entire process for the other earring.

Obviously, you could make this as a dangle for a necklace, rather than as earrings, if you wanted to.
